Today after another solid night sleep in the hostel we ventured North from Canon Beach up into the Ecola State Park. The fictitious surf fiends in our minds told us that the coastline would be littered with waves but it was a harsh reality. 6km later the expedition to magical wave land was called off.
Still thirsty for waves we headed 2 hours or so North up the coast across the Columbia River into Washington. Beach breaks were our aim but because of the fine weather the wind was confusing the seas.
Nothing gained, nothing lost, we drove South to surf with the friendly locals at seaside just before sunset. With swell on the horizon it was an early night.
